Service Details
The per-service cockpit: billing terms, server credentials and live status, add-ons, upgrade paths, and lifecycle actions like suspend and terminate.
What the Service Details page is for
Service Details is the per-subscription cockpit. It shows everything operational about a single provisioned resource — its billing terms, its server credentials and live status, the add-ons attached to it, the upgrade paths open to it, and every lifecycle action you can take (suspend, cancel, terminate, move, and more). For products that are delivered by a provisioning plugin, it also surfaces a live Provider Controls panel where you can power the server on or off, reinstall it, reset its password, and read off its resource usage.
How to get there
Open Services from the sidebar and click any row in the list. You can also reach a service from a client’s profile under Clients — click the service there and it opens the same page, with a “Back to client” link instead of “Back to services”.
Reading the page
The page header shows the service name, the owning client (linked), and the client’s email, with a View → link to the client profile. Below the header sits a row of action buttons. The body is a set of cards.
Service Information
The billing identity of the subscription:
- Product — the product the service was ordered from.
- Status — a colored badge (Active, Suspended, Pending, Pending Payment, Cancelled, Terminated, or Fraud). If a deploy failed, a red Deploy error box appears here with the message returned by the provider.
- Amount — the recurring price and billing cycle (for example €9.99/monthly). Hourly services instead show a Billing line reading Credit-based.
- Next Due — the next renewal date (hourly services show the credit-based billing line instead).
- Registration Date — when the service was created.
- Terminated — the termination date, shown in red once a service is terminated.
- Do Not Suspend Until — an optional protection date. While set, the automatic suspend and terminate routines skip this service; manual actions still work.
- Billing Exempt — whether the service is excluded from automatic renewal invoicing.
- Delivery Date — the estimated or overridden delivery date (shown for dedicated servers and any service that has a delivery estimate).
- Cancellation banner — if a cancellation has been scheduled, an amber Cancellation Scheduled banner shows the end date with a Keep Service button to revoke it.
Service Details
The technical placement of the resource. This card is hidden for license-type services and replaced by a dedicated panel for colocation services. Depending on the product it can show the Hostname, Location, Provider, Server ID, primary and additional IP addresses (each with a copy button), and any order-configuration values captured at checkout (operating system, plan, product options, and custom fields). Dedicated-server services additionally show hardware, serial number, rack, and management (IPMI) IP when available.
Notes
A free-text area for internal admin notes. These are never shown to the customer. To edit them, click Edit in the header to put the cards into edit mode, type your note, and click Save Changes.
Provider Controls
Shown for services delivered by a provisioning plugin. It pulls live data from the provider and presents server status, identity (server ID, IP, hostname, username, location, OS, virtualization, plan), login credentials, resource usage, and the server action buttons. See Server controls below.
Service Options
The add-ons attached to the service. Each row shows the option name, billing cycle and price (plus any setup fee), next due date, and a status badge. From here you can add a new option or act on existing ones — see Service options.
Colocation Details / IP Transit
Specialized cards that replace the standard Service Details card for those product types. Colocation shows location, rack position, power, bandwidth, included cross-connects (with a cross-connect table), included BGP sessions, and VLANs. IP Transit shows a BGP Configuration card (customer ASN, peer/customer IPv4 and IPv6, route type, prefix limit, IRR AS-SET) plus a Port & Bandwidth card with port speed, committed rate, and live incoming/outgoing traffic figures.
Action buttons
The buttons across the header change with the service’s status. Click Edit to switch the information cards into editable form, then Save Changes or Cancel. While editing you can change the product, status, amount and billing cycle, next due date, registration and termination dates, hostname, location, provider assignment, server, billing-exempt toggle, do-not-suspend date, delivery-date override, order-configuration values, and notes.

Suspend vs. Terminate vs. Delete. Suspend pauses access but keeps billing running. Terminate destroys the actual resource at the provider. Delete removes the record from FluxBilling. Use the Exempt? toggle if you want to stop renewal invoices without suspending or terminating anything.
Server controls (plugin-driven services)
For services delivered by a provisioning plugin, the Provider Controls panel exposes a Server Controls row of actions. The default set is:
- Start — power the server on.
- Stop — power the server off.
- Restart — reboot the server.
- Reinstall — rebuild the server. This opens a window (with a wipe warning) to pick a new operating system and set a new root password.
- Reset Password — set a new password in a small dialog.
A plugin can also define custom actions in place of the defaults — for example a button that opens a console or VNC view in a new tab. Manual products (no plugin) show none of these controls.
Below the buttons, the panel reports live Resource Usage — CPU (with core count), RAM (total and used), Storage (total and used), and Bandwidth — plus separate Incoming and Outgoing traffic figures where the provider supplies them, and a Refresh Stats button. The Login Credentials block shows the IP address, username, and password (with a reveal toggle), each with a one-click copy button.
Service options (add-ons)
The Service Options card lists every add-on on the service.
- Click Add Option to open the Add Option to Service window.
- Pick an option from the dropdown — the amount pre-fills from the option’s configured rate.
- Choose the billing type (recurring or one-time), and for recurring options the billing cycle. Set the amount, an optional setup fee, and the initial status (Active, Pending, or Pending Payment).
- Click Add to attach it.
On each existing option row, a pending option shows an activate (check) button, and an active option shows a cancel (cross) button. Each row also shows whether the option adds a measurable resource increment (for example +1 GB).
Upgrading a service
Click Upgrade (available while Active) to open the upgrade window. It has tabs:
- Upgrade Paths
- Predefined upgrade paths configured on the product. Pick a target and confirm.
- Any Product
- Swap straight to any other product, with a price preview before you commit.
- Options Only
- Add or remove product options without changing the base product.
- Resources
- Shown for colocation services (and opened first), for adjusting allocated resources such as power, bandwidth, cross-connects, BGP sessions, and VLANs.
The upgrade generates a pro-rated billing document automatically, following your configured document type (invoice or proforma). If an upgrade is already in progress, a pending banner appears at the top of the window with the option to cancel it.
Tips and gotchas
If a service is stuck in a failed state, read the red Deploy error box in the Service Information card — it carries the exact message from the provider. Then use Retry deployment or Recreate to re-run the deploy.
- The Provider Controls panel is the live source of truth for power state and usage. If a number looks stale, click Refresh Stats.
- Move only changes ownership inside FluxBilling; it does not migrate the underlying resource.
- Set Do Not Suspend Until to protect a service from automatic suspension during a dispute or grace arrangement — manual suspend still works.
- Reinstall and reset-password both apply at the provider and overwrite the existing password, so update the customer afterward (or use Resend Welcome).
